Applying ad graphics to glass, especially glass that comes into contact with refrigeration or with the cold outdoors, often entails something really sticky. When you want to change these ad graphics, you may spend an hour or more scraping the stickers or sticky stuff from the glass. If you want to avoid the sticker mess, here are some options that can help.
Vinyl Graphics
Vinyl graphics are made in the perfect shape, color, and detail you want. Best of all, they typically cling to glass with just a little static electricity. If you really want them to stick, or if the surface is moist from refrigeration condensation, you can use a little water to make the vinyl graphics cling to the glass using suction. If you need to remove them, the tip of a utility knife releases the suction or kills the static cling. No mess, no fuss.
Temporary Glass Paint/Markers
Auto dealerships use a grease paint crayon to write on the glass of the vehicles. This is a little more mess than you really need, since there is also temporary glass paint or temporary glass markers. Both the paint and the markers are easily applied to glass and wipe right off with a glass cleaner or rubbing alcohol wipes. If all you need are prices or a single word, then the paint or markers should do the trick. Just make sure you have (or one of your employees has) really good handwriting before you invest in this option.
Banners
Why stick anything to the glass at all if you can just hang something behind or in front of the glass instead? Banners that can be secured in any fashion to the window frame or to the appliance holding the glass are perfect for recurring sales. After you use the banners and the promotions on the banners are finished, you can take the banners down, roll them up, and store them until next year or whenever you hold the same promotional sale.
Magnetic Signs
When the frames around the glass are metal, you can use magnetic strip signs instead. These signs adhere to the frame, such as the area above the door handle on a grocery store freezer. These stay put until you remove them, and they do not require adhesives or cleaning solutions to stick or remove from the areas around the glass. You can also buy flat, clip-on metal frames that clip onto the glass doors. The metal frames allow these magnetic signs to stick onto the front and allow you to remove the whole frame and magnetic sign or swap out the magnetic signs.
