3 Tips For Designing The Aesthetics Of Your Monument Sign

Blog

Monuments signs, or the large signs that are essentially large blocks of carved stone that have the logo and name of a company prominently displayed on them, tend to give a potential customer the sense that the business is here to stay. However, it can be difficult to get the aesthetics of your sign right.

If customers do not like the look of your sign, they might choose to ignore it. Here are some tips to ensure that your monument sign is as effective as possible:

1. Correctly Size Negative Space

You need to make sure that you correctly size your negative space in order to make sure that your letters do not look too big or that your sign does not look overwhelming. For example, if you leave a lot of negative, blank space, anything that is on the sign will look like it is too small for the letters that are on the sign.

If the letters fill up the entire sign, then the sign will seem overwhelming for a viewer, as though the letters are being physically constrained by the sign. By making sure that your white space only makes up a third to a fourth of your entire sign, you can make a sign that neither underwhelms nor overwhelms viewers.

2. Make the Style of the Sign Match Your Company's Style

Another factor to take into consideration is the style of the sign itself. You will want to make sure that it matches the style of the company. For example, if you are running a tech company, you probably don't want a sign that is in the style of an ancient Roman monument.

You will instead want a sign that has clean edges and possibly incorporates some glass. You want a more modern sign. However, if you are an old-school Italian restaurant, a sign resembling an ancient Roman monument will make sense.

3. Decide What Will Go Around Your Sign

A monument sign that is in the middle of a parking lot or on top of a mound of dirt will look out of place. You will want to surround the sign with something else, such as flowers or trees or larger rocks, in order to make the sign look as though it is an established part of the landscape.

Announcing an Impending Arrival

I enjoy communicating with my childhood friends on social media outlets. Because I live a long distance from my hometown, I don’t get to see them as often as I would like. A few days ago, I was shocked and excited when I saw a social media post by one of these close friends. He and his wife announced that they were going to have their second baby this December. However, the way that they made the announcement was unique. They made a picture of their son sitting in the sand on a beach. They placed four pairs of flip flops near their son. Beside these pairs of shoes, they placed unique signs. When I finished reading all of the signs, I was able to understand the announcement. On this blog, you will discover how to announce a pregnancy with the help of unique, custom signs.
